Rockaway Mall is the newest addition to the Rockaway Village mall’s new portfolio of more than 70 malls, but it will soon be joining the lineup of a new mall slated to open on the corner of Rockaway Drive and Stuyvesant Street in Brooklyn in the coming weeks.
The Rockaway Town Center will be home to approximately 7,000 square feet of retail space and 1,000 apartments.
The first phase of the development, which is expected to open in the second half of 2019, will feature a mix of commercial space, apartments and offices.
The second phase, which includes apartments, retail space, and retail, is slated to begin construction later this year.
Rockaway’s second phase will consist of 2,000 residential units and 1.5 million square feet, and the Rockaways Mall Development Corporation plans to build a third phase that will include 1,500 apartments and 2.5 percent of the Rocklands development.
As part of the expansion, the Rockwoods Mall Development Corp. has announced a partnership with The New York Post to publish a series of news stories on the Rockwood Mall development.
In addition, the Mall Development will partner with the Rockwater Watershed Association and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden to create a series that will feature the local community’s perspective on the development.
In addition, The Rockwoods Town Center Development Corporation will partner on a program that will encourage people to participate in the RockWood Town Center’s revitalization effort.
