North Star is now a tourist destination, but it’s not the same for those who used to work there.
It was a busy day at the mall on Tuesday.
A few people were on the mall waiting for their kids to play.
But a woman walking by stopped her car and said she had been shopping for a birthday gift.
She handed over the package, and the man, who was about to leave, walked up and took it.
The woman and the woman’s daughter were standing outside the store.
One of the women asked the other woman if she wanted a picture.
The woman smiled and said, “Sure.”
That was when the man took off, according to the woman who was waiting outside.
She tried to stop him but couldn’t.
She walked over to her daughter and put her hands on her shoulders.
She told the girl she was sorry.
“And the girl said, ‘No, I’m not sorry,'” the woman said.
The family of the man was in the store and they saw the man walk off, she said.
They saw a police officer and a mall security guard who came out and got the man.
The man was arrested and charged with simple assault.
He’s being held on $500 bail.
