COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities in Ohio say a man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man dead and wounded five others at a Colorado mall.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Mall of America in Jefferson County, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) northwest of Columbus.
The Jefferson Sheriff’s Department says officers responded to the mall just before 3 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
The investigation revealed the shooting victim had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say two other people were shot.
The Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday that the man who died was identified as 30-year-old William Anthony Coker of Colorado Springs.
He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Authorities are still trying to determine if the shooting was a hate crime, but say there are no indications that Coker had any ties to the shooter.
The shooter was arrested Friday night.
