Concord, Calif.
— (CBS/AP) The Concord Mall in the northeast suburb of Concord has been closed as a precautionary measure after it was struck by a hail storm.
The mall’s mall manager says it is still being evaluated by state authorities.CBS affiliate KCRA reports mall owner D.J. White told local media that he has received no information about the mall being affected.
The weather conditions have forced the closure of many of the mall’s entrances and parking lots, with a few parking spaces available at the mall in the parking lot adjacent to the entrance, the KCRA report says.
The storm also caused a traffic jam near the mall, and some shoppers were seen fleeing the mall after it reopened.
