At least four Marines were killed and six others wounded on Monday during a shooting at a U.S. military installation, the Pentagon said.
One Marine died in the attack, Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said.
A fourth Marine was also wounded.
“We will continue to work closely with the FBI, our law enforcement partners, and our local law enforcement agencies to determine the details of this tragic incident,” Davis said in a statement.
The attack happened at the Stonewood Mall in the U.K. and happened about 5:30 p.m. local time.
“The Department of Defense is working closely with local authorities to determine whether additional details will be released, but we will continue the investigation into this incident,” the Pentagon’s press secretary, Peter Cook, said in the statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families.”
The attack came after a gunman opened fire at a military recruiting center in Colorado, killing six people.
He is suspected of shooting six Marines and wounding nine others before he was killed by police.
