Davenpond, Iowa – There’s a new Walmart in town, and it’s just a block from where the mall originally stood.
And that’s what the Davenpost, Iowa, man wanted.
The mall owner wanted a new store, but instead of moving to the new store near the mall, he was looking for a new site.
The store, called Arrowhead Mall, will be opening in the former Arrowhead Center mall on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
The Walmart will be a huge part of the redevelopment project, which includes the new Daven Port Center and Arrowhead mall.
That’s where the Walmart will come to a complete stop.
“It’s a really cool thing to see, it’s really a symbol of the mall,” said Davenville resident Joe McAllister.
The Arrowhead store will be the biggest store in town and is already packed with shoppers.
But it’s not the only store that will be built there.
Walmart will also be building a new Target store in the future.
The Davengate store is being built next to the former Davenhead Mall.
Walmart said the store will have about 500,000 square feet.
“I was just looking at the plans and it looked like I would be able to walk in,” said McAllisters wife, Erin.
The mall is already a magnet for shoppers.
There are several other stores planned, but the store in this part of town is one of the biggest.
“We had the mall open for two years and the mall was empty, but now it’s filled up,” said local resident Jim Stauffer.
The new Walmart will open at the end of January, but not before a lot of questions have been asked.
What are the new rules for parking and parking in parking lots?
Will the mall be closed when the store opens?
Will there be a limited number of parking spaces?
Will parking fees apply?
What’s the best way to find parking at the new mall?
Will shoppers be able park anywhere in the parking lot?
Will people park in front of the store?
Will shoppers be allowed to drive in the mall and return to their cars?
What will be at the store, what’s the store’s name?
Will the new stores be in the same area?
Will customers be able pick up their shopping at the mall?
