Today, Disneyland Resort is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
For many of us, it’s a moment that feels like we’re living in a time warp, a time when we have the ability to take a few steps back and look at the world from the perspective of the very first Disneyland Resort attraction.
That’s what we’re celebrating today.
And if that’s true for you, you can do it at Disneyland Resort.
That means you can have a peek inside a brand-new interactive, virtual reality experience at the theme park.
It’s called Disneyland VR and it’s part of Disneyland Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.
It launches today on the Disneyland Resort app.
We’re excited to be able to share it with you and we hope you enjoy it.
Here are some of the things that you’ll be able do with Disneyland VR.
The first VR experience to run on a Disney computer is a brand new experience called “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”
You can walk into the Wizarding world and get a peek at some of its most iconic scenes from the books.
The Wizarding Quidditch match starts with a new, fully immersive virtual experience called Quiddith.
You can step inside the Wizard’s house and see the living room and all the bedrooms, dining room and kitchen.
The house also includes a new interactive virtual experience for you to experience that is called “Dobby’s Kitchen.”
Dobby is a little wizard who can teleport around the house and explore the kitchen.
You will also have the chance to explore “The Parlor,” the lounge and the garden area, and to get a glimpse at the magical castle of the castle.
We’ve also launched a new experience that’s called “Sister Location,” which is a magical little “virtual” experience where you can walk through the living quarters of the sister location of the first “Downton Abbey” show.
You’ll be rewarded with a chance to walk around and experience the living rooms and kitchens.
“Sisters Location” is available for the Disneyland Park, Disneyland California Adventure Park and Disneyland Paris and the Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom.
You also have an opportunity to explore the park with “The Haunted Mansion.”
In the first of two “Dance of the Little Mermaid” virtual experiences, you will walk through a haunted castle and visit the dining room.
There are also “Dining Room Ambitions” that allow you to explore a restaurant.
You may even visit the theater and take in the movie that’s in theaters across the park.
You have an option to enjoy the “Magic Kingdom at Night” experience that lets you visit the theme parks at night and experience interactive virtual environments.
We hope that you enjoy this new experience.
Disney Vacation Club members will be able access the “Mermaids,” the magic kingdom of the Disney Resort in “Mae Dewey’s Little Mermaid,” and the Disneyland Paris resort in “Moana.”
You will have access to the “Hollywood Studios” attraction in “Finding Nemo.”
And “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be available to everyone at the Disneyland California and Disneyland Park resort in the “Pirate Party.”
As we have seen with the first new VR experience on the Disney Computer at Disney World in the early 2000s, the power of VR is just starting to come into its own.
If you’re a Disney member and you have a smartphone with a VR headset, you’ll soon be able explore the world of Disney at Disneyland.
It will be at least the third time in the past five years that Disney has released a new virtual experience, which we hope will help spur new VR experiences for guests and Disney employees alike.
We also look forward to working with other partners on more VR experiences in the future.
We can’t wait to share this new virtual world with you!
