Posted December 10, 2018 06:30:03Wheaton Mall in Wheaton, Ohio will close at the end of February 2019 and be replaced by a new mall, The Huffington Sun reports.
The new mall will be called West County Mall and will be a new location for Wheaton Shopping Center.
West County will also expand its food court, new shopping center, and new restaurants, The New York Times reports.
The mall was originally built in 1929 as a grocery store before it became a retail center in the 1970s.
A number of stores and restaurants opened in the mall over the years.
In addition to the new Wheaton Mall, West County’s restaurants will include the new McDonald’s at the mall, the new Chipotle at the new Chick-fil-A in the West County Marketplace and a new Panera Bread in the new Pantera Marketplace.
The new Wheaston Mall will also include the Wheaton Marketplace, a grocery and food court with more than 80 stores, restaurants and a bowling alley.
The Wheaton Walmart opened in January 2019, according to the Wheaston Daily Times.
A new restaurant, The Panera, opened in November 2020.
The West County Walmart will also feature a new food court featuring new food and beverage options, including a Panera Whole Foods Market, the Panera Bistro, Panera Cafe, and Panera Cucina del Mar. The Pantera will also offer delivery.
