A man who allegedly opened fire on a group of people at a mall in suburban Atlanta, Georgia, has died, according to police.
Authorities identified the man as 23-year-old Dajuan Jones, who was taken into custody Friday evening, Atlanta Police Department spokesman Alaric Rogers said.
Police said the shooting occurred at the Cherry Hill mall at around 2 a.m. on Friday.
Police described the suspect as black, between 18 and 25 years old, with a beard and was wearing a gray sweatshirt.
He was armed with a semi-automatic rifle, a handgun, and a handgun holster, Rogers said at a news conference.
Investigators are investigating whether the shooting was a random act or whether someone was trying to lure the suspect.
The shooting is not believed to be related to a recent string of mass shootings, Rogers added.
Jones was taken to a hospital in stable condition, where he was pronounced dead.
The police department did not immediately provide further details on the circumstances of his death.
Authorities did not release a motive for the shooting, which is still under investigation.
