The Washington Times and CNN are the most popular sources of news in Washington, the Post reported Thursday, citing data from OpenSecrets Blog.
BuzzFeed has the most subscribers and is viewed by most Americans every day.
The Post noted that the news outlets are also the most trusted in the nation by many demographic groups.
“We know there’s a lot of love for CNN in D.C.,” a senior congressional aide told the newspaper.
“But if we want to get this nation’s news to people, it needs to be a source of genuine news, not just a way to promote a political agenda.
The fact that we’re watching CNN, BuzzFeed, and MSNBC as the go-to sources for news, we’re all missing out.”
The Post said the data was compiled from the website OpenSecurities.org.
It also said that while CNN and BuzzFeed had the highest daily viewership, there were also other sources, including local and national news outlets, social media, and cable news.
The New York Times, which is owned by NBCUniversal, was second, with 1.4 million daily viewers.
The Associated Press had 2.6 million daily users.
BuzzFeed was third, with 2.1 million daily readers.
The Washingtonian, a blog by Politico Media Group, had 1.7 million daily unique visitors.
The Times, CNN and MSNBC are also owned by Comcast and Time Warner.
The AP is owned partly by Comcast, while the Times and Politico Media group are jointly owned by AT&T, Comcast, and Time Inc. The data shows that the average daily viewer of CNN is 23.6.
The average daily visitor to the Associated Press is 28.8.
The Daily Beast, which has a large online audience, has a total of 7.4.
MSNBC is seen by an average of 18.4 daily visitors.
Fox News, which owns Fox News Channel and The Five, had a viewership of 2.3 million.
Politico Media and Fox News are joint-owned by Comcast.
CNN’s audience, however, is a much smaller 0.7 percent.
The site also released its 2017 data.
The news website saw 1.3 billion pageviews in March, up 18 percent from February.
The top stories on the site in the past week were “The GOP’s new nominee is a racist,” “House GOP leader: ‘Donald Trump should never have been elected president,'” and “Trump’s latest comments about Hillary Clinton and Muslims.”
